Team VDB have spent the last two weekends at the PRARG grounds competing at the QDRSC event and at the Two Star competition this past weekend. We had some great results at the QDRSC day, with Jazzaround (owned by Merrilea Charles and ridden by Mel), Remi Frangelica (owned by Tor VDB and ridden by Kaitlin) and Immenhof Scout (owned by Tarrandene Stud and ridden by Matt) all winning tests as well as the very talented Cougar V (co-owned by Tor and Catharina) having his first Inter I start for a super score and a 2nd place. Remi Lady Locksley (co-owned by Cheryl O’Brien and Mel) showed some real highlights in their PSG test with just a few costly mistakes in the canter work bringing the marks down. We also took a couple of young horses, and we were impressed with how they handled the day. Thank you to the QDRSC for running a well organised and friendly event!

We were back at PRARG yesterday for the Preliminary-Elementary** event, where Benchmark Beckham (owned by Lauren George) and Mel came home with the Novice Reserve Championship. Mel and Beckham head to Melbourne next week to meet up with Lauren’s new imported 4yo gelding, ‘Bertone’, with both horses contesting DWTS at Werribee at the end of next week. A great lead-up competition for Beckham before DWTS! Thank you to the PRARG committee, class sponsors and all of the wonderful volunteers for a great day!

Well done to all of our students who also competed at these events! We are blessed to be able to work with a really great bunch of people and horses!

Team VDB are excited to announce Tor's inclusion onto the National Carriage Driving Squad with the pony Team of Four and the horse Pair! We would like to thank a number of people who have encouraged this new direction - Ross Carbery and Miriam Bentley of Carbery Estate, Belrock Equestrian, Edwards Saddleworld Toowoomba and the Warwick & District and Jimboomba Carriage Driving Club's. Although only relatively new to the sport of competitive carriage driving, we are really enjoying the challenge and are looking forward to seeing where it leads us!
